Many years ago, when I was just a little boy, I had a dream that I would light a fire, the fire of the Holy Spirit, throughout the world.

We first ran into Shalom World TV at the 2018 Ignite Conference among the many booths put up there. We got back home and did a search for Shalom World and worked out how to download the app onto our smart TV. This was in the early days of the internet in our area and we had very poor reception most of the time; we enjoyed the programs, nonetheless. The next year, we saw Shalom Media’s booth again at the 2019 Ignite Conference; it was then that we decided that we would start supporting Shalom. We did a search, again, on the internet and found a portal we could log in to and sorted out a small monthly donation.

We found out much later about the ‘Shalom Peace Fellowship’ but, this was not the reason we supported Shalom. We knew it was the right thing to do to support a ministry we were using, to grow our Catholic Faith - a part of the way we help the light of CHRIST shine out into the World for God’s seekers. We got to learn more about Shalom Media and its efforts at this time; this is when we learned about SPF too. What an easy and simple way to lend a hand for God’s work!

Communion sends us out on a mission – a mission to bring His Good News to seekers; at our age, this is part of our mission. Our God speaks to us as a couple or as individuals in our own daily prayer, since our conversion forty years ago. Therefore, it is good supporting this work of God, so others might have the same opportunity.

We are called by Jesus’ Gospel to let the ‘light of Christ’ shine out from the lampstand in our hearts. In our senior years, with a bit of ill health setting in, this is one way we can carry out the mission that our communion sends us all on. When this is a ‘work of God,’ the best way we can advance, grow, and support this ministry of Shalom is for us all to yield our will into Jesus’ will as we daily, let the light of Christ blaze out for God’s seekers as we deny ourselves, take up our cross and go follow Jesus.

Thank you Shalom Media for your great work to bring JESUS’ GOSPEL to as many as possible.
