I am a parishioner at Saint Therese of Lisieux Church in Courtice, and the reason I subscribe to Shalom Tidings Magazine is simple. The writers are experienced, well-versed individuals who have done valuable research on various topics of interest and importance pertaining to our Christian/Catholic faith.

This is a very difficult time in our world and the pandemic has certainly cast a great deal of doubt and fear into the lives of Catholics and Christians alike, all over the world. There is so much drama and violence on social media that it is wonderful to have a magazine that focuses on faith, peace and goodwill.

I feel encouraged when I read the articles and realize that hope is by no means lost, but rather very much alive in the beautiful individuals who spread the Gospel in the most difficult of environments and circumstances.

My three children are what you might call “lukewarm” Catholics who do believe in God but have fallen away from practicing their faith. I ordered subscriptions to Shalom Tidings for them in the hopes that it will stir up some questions and a desire in them to embrace their faith once again. We all need to be rekindled every now and then.

Shalom Tidings has inspired me to look more closely at how I can help those less fortunate and in great need of support in some of the most extreme and desperate conditions. I greatly enjoy the articles that provide valuable information and awareness of the issues affecting us as Catholics in these uncertain times.
